SOCAL ENDURANCE 6 + 12 HOURS OF TEMeCULA- THANK YOU SERFAS LIGHTS!
On January 30, 2016 Bear Valley Bikes had several teams race in the 6 + 12 Hours of Temecula. The race took place on a fun, flowly 9.5 mile course at Vail Lake. For those who competed in the 12 hour race, Serfas was a huge part of the effort. Without the reliability and brightness of the 2500's it would have been a much different race. Thank you Serfas for the support! We will post results as soon as they are up.
-Stuart Gonzalez and Dave Lippert teamed up to take 6th place in a VERY fast, competitive 6 Hour Duo Open Division. Stuart's fastest lap was under 40 minutes and he consistently was coming through in the 40-41 minute range. So far, Stuart is looking to be in the best form yet going into the season! This could mean very good things as last year he made the lead lap of the Pro Men's USA Cycling National XC Nationals race.
-Jason Butler competed in the 12 Hour Solo race this weekend! He raced on his Gary Fisher bike and was hootin' and hollerin' as Bear Valley Bikes riders were on the course with him... thank you, Jason and great job! We hope to see you at more races.
-The Bear Valley Bikes Tres Amigos team of Alfred Pacheco, Jean-Louis Bourdevaire, and Jules Bourdevaire dominated the 3 person 12 Hour class. These guys were putting out some of the fastest times of the day! They won by a lap and a half and finished strong with Alfred missing 1 more lap by less than 3 minutes. Maria came to support the Bourdevaire's and was a HUGE help to the whole team. Thank you, Maria!!
-Derek Hermon and Nikki Peterson alternated laps the whole 12 hours and came out 2 laps ahead to win the 2 person Coed 12 Hour division with a total of 14 laps! They were 2nd overall for 2 person teams with the winner also completing 14 laps. Both riders rode very consistently throughout the entire race. In fact, when it came time to use their Serfas lights, Derek Hermon barely even slowed down. Nikki ended up with the fastest ladies time of the day by over two minutes.
